Our Eco-Friendly Events & Weddings

Here at The Jolly Good Photo Co. we work really hard to minimise our impact on the planet and in turn help more people have an eco friendly wedding or event. We try to be as sustainable and ethical as we can in the choices we make and the actions we take. Here's a quick run down of some of the things we do to help your have a green wedding:

Reducing & Being Responsible for our Waste

Reducing waste and disposing of waste in a responsible way are two of the biggest challenges when planning an eco-friendly wedding.

​Here are just some things we do to reduce our waste:
  • ​Printers are configured to the most efficient settings for ink and paper usage
  • Test shots - checked on screen and not printed out
  • Avoid using 'disposable' fancy dress items and use robust, quality props
  • Well-trained photographers and attendants mean each photo is spot on and fewer prints are wasted and end up in landfill
  • We use recyclable paper tape instead of non-recyclable plastic gaffa tape​
Our Zero-Landfill Policy
  • Printer ink reels -Recycled through our provider
  • Printer Paper roll ends - Donated to crafting
  • Printer paper tubes - used by a local gardening group for seedling planting!​
  • Paper tape is recycled with paper recycling
  • Boxes and packaging from printer paper - go to a local business that use them instead of buying new packaging to send items

  • And last but not least...
  • Feathers from the feather boas - go to our local nursery for the kids to play with!

New Life to Old Items​

  • We love giving new life to old items and ultimately ensuring things don't end up in landfill whether it's our awesome genuine item props, or even our antique cameras.
  • Even our new rustic photo booth has been made out of reclaimed timber. 
  • We look after our props and repair them rather than throwing them away and try not to buy anything that would only have a short lifetime or break after limited uses (here's giving a hard, mean glare at floppy cardboard props that break after 5 minutes!)
  • We've also contacted the suppliers of our guest books and printer paper to work with
    ​them on reducing the packaging these items ship with. 
Using preloved and second hand items in our props to help make your wedding more eco friendly. Avoids landfill waste by not using disposable fancy dress items. For a more sustainable and ethical wedding or event.

Carbon Offsetting for Eco Friendly Weddings

We take our beautiful photo booths all over the UK, which is quite a lot of unavoidable travel.
  • We use a dedicated scheme called Offset Earth to make us a carbon-neutral company and in turn, you the peace of mind that we're an eco-friendly wedding supplier. 
  • Ecolgi offsets the carbon emissions of the lives of all of our employees, our business travel, and the activities in the office such as printing and making the odd cup of tea. We pay a monthly fee to be part of this scheme which goes to funding carbon reduction initiatives.
